Silent Auction

The Texas Indo-American Physicians Society, Southwest Chapter (TIPS-SW) will hold its first annual mega charitable banquet this year benefiting the AAPI Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Presented in conjunction with the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) and the India Association of San Antonio (IASA), this event will take place at the Pearl Stable in San Antonio on September 18, 2010.

The proceeds from the Silent Auction will help fund the AAPI Charitable Foundation which runs seventeen free clinics in India and five free clinics in the United States, including San Antonio’s South Side free clinic, staffed by TIPS-SW volunteer physicians. A portion of the proceeds will also be deployed locally to help fund the Cultural Center in San Antonio, maintained by IASA.

As we plan our summer getaways and travel the globe, bear in mind our culture loves one-of-a-kind art, handicrafts, unique specialty fabrics and textiles, as well as those items that remind them they belong to three cultures: Indian, American, and South Texan. Tickets to sporting events (especially box/suite) and memorabilia (signed game balls) are all excellent silent auction items sure to fetch a worthy price.

Whether your role will be to make a donation of an item or items yourself, to solicit items or simply bid on them at the event, we owe it to ourselves to maximize the enjoyment and proceeds the silent auction can bring to the event. Please tell all your friends to be on the lookout for eligible treasures in their closets, attics, or during their travels this summer. Donations to the AAPI Charitable Foundation are tax deductible.

All items should be in by Saturday, September 05, 2010 for inventory.

please write the checks in favor of TIPSSW and mail to the following address
