Externship - TIPS SW Chapter
A small overview of the program:
TIPS SW chapter in San Antonio started a mini externship program for foreign medical graduates wanting to have United States clinical experience, where each IMG has to rotate with Physicians in clinics and a non-Residency Hospital for 6 weeks. Each rotation with a physician lasts 3 weeks.
As this is more like an observership, malpractice insurance is not needed. The extern will receive a letter of completion if he/she completes 6 weeks of rotations.
These clinics and hospitals are located at different places in San Antonio, so if you are selected for this mini-externship program, you have to drive or transit through buses to these clinics.
One can find information on Bus service at www.viainfo.net
The candidate has to find his/her own accommodation too. Go to Indian student organization and some websites: eknazar.comcraigslist.comutsa.org
