AAPI Potential:

The main areas where AAPI can leverage support are;

  1. Transfer of technology to modernize teaching hospitals in India and bring the state of the art educational systems to teaching institutions.
  2. Provide continuing medical education programs for physicians and paramedical personnel.
  3. Foster cooperative research programs between institutions in the two countries.
  4. Help establish disease tracking systems and public health centers.
  5. Facilitate partnership with major pharmaceutical companies in drug development, research, testing and patents.
  6. Grant support for public health projects in India that span across states.
  7. Promote medical tourism and familiarize US physicians to the advanced medical care capabilities in India today.
  8. Facilitate understanding of the indigenous healing arts of India such as Ayurveda, yoga and meditation. Through Alumni and specialty organizations support India Health Initiatives for AIDS, Blindness Prevention, Cancer Care, Mental Health, Perinatal care, and Rural Health care.
